The winter slump is coming to a close with many major announcements coming out in the last few weeks. Stubbs has the Aussie New Wavers, Cut Copy with Holy Ghost!, and also Fleet Foxes, Local Natives, and The Walkmen. La Zona Rosa has an incredible string of shows booked through Spring, Tokyo Police Club, Broken Social Scene (Soldout), Two Door Cinema Club, Warpaint, Foals with Freelance Whales, and the super sexy CSS with Sleigh Bells and Neon Indian. At the Music Hall Interpol, and Deftones. Really looking forward to the Broken Social Scene club show and Cut Copy/Holy Ghost! at Stubbs. CSS are the Brazilian sexpop group who along with future stars Sleigh Bells are going to melt La Zona Rosa.

Oops, Crystal Castle’s new album leaked and is available on Hypem now. Castles have created a great follow up album to their smashing debut that adds similar electro-glitchy-pop to their portfolio. With studio and production improvements, the tracks sound crisper (maybe a negative) and flow well. I fucking love seeing them live and think Alice Glass is one of the baddest female fronts alive. Yes they play short sets and yes Alice is usually trashed onstage, but they pull it off I always leave happy and wanting more. They are coming to Stubbs August 11th with the LA based Hard Tour, with Sinden and Destructo. I’ve done most of the work for you, grab the tracks below…
The tracklisting for ‘Crystal Castles’ is:
With SXSW starting soon why not drop some knowledge on a band not performing at the fest. But they will be opening for Phoenix at their next show. This Irish 3 piece has yet to drop their US release yet but the UK got theirs last month. Their debut album Tourist History, is an electro-pop gem that will have them headlining Stubbs or La Zona Rosa on their next US tour. Now I’m really upset I didn’t get any Phoenix tickets.
UPDATE- GO TO HOMEPAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SHOW IS AT SPEAKEASY
Well Shit in the middle of writing this I went to the Bacardi website and it looks like MSTRKRFT and Santigold are not going to be at this show FUCK!!!!!!! but anyways check out my vids from SXSW and realize ONLY Matt and Kim, Major Lazer, and A-Trak have been announced for the Austin show. Which is still great I love Matt and Kim. Looks like show will be at the Austin Music Hall (Pollstar) or maybe just a Matt and Kim Spoon aftershow at Stubbs (Their Myspace).
(I just came across this today look who’s coming to the July 10th. If you were lucky enough to be at MSTRKFRFT’s SXSW showcase outside at Radio Room or had the balls to jump the fence and then later break it down. It was my favorite of SX check out my video of the Mounties clearing the alley next to the entrance. Also Matt and Kim’s showcase was probably my number 2 of SX. Come on Santogold is on this bill, now I don’t feel bad about skipping her Stubb’s show for Camera Oscura at Antone’s.)
So now I must choose Santogold or Camera Obscura…..
